Day 1 in Luxor:

Early in the morning, between 5 and 6 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel. In a comfortable, air-conditioned car, you will travel along the newly constructed road through the desert. After about two hours, you will stop for a short break at a rest area to use the restroom or stretch your legs. The journey continues to Qena, where you will travel through the lush and densely populated Nile Valley, gaining insight into everyday Egyptian life. Around 10 a.m., you will arrive in Luxor and begin your tour with a visit to the impressive temple complex of... Karnak with its famous Hall of Columns and the Holy Lake. Afterwards, you will travel by bus to the centrally located Luxor Temple, which houses the famous mosque of Abu el-Hagag. Afterwards, experience Luxor from the water with a motorboat cruise on the Nile. Enjoy lunch at an Egyptian restaurant to sample local cuisine. The bus will then take you back to the hotel, where you'll have time to refresh yourself and perhaps take a short nap to prepare for the evening. Optionally, you can experience the sound and light show at Karnak Temple in the evening (bookable locally, approximately 1 hour). The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 2 in Luxor:

After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel in the morning to Thebes-West, to the famous Valley of the Kings to explore the tombs of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom, including the tomb of the golden Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Afterwards, you will visit the terraced temple of the Queen Hatshepsut, one of the greatest female builders in history. Afterwards, admire the colossal statues of Amenhotep III, known as the Colossi of Memnon, Before enjoying a traditional lunch in Thebes-West, you'll fortify yourself for the return journey to Hurghada. On the bus ride back, you can relax and enjoy the afternoon along the Nile. Around 6 pm, you'll return to your hotel and can enjoy a well-earned dinner. This two-day excursion from Hurghada or Marsa Alam to Luxor allows you to explore the city's famous sights.
